Alexander J. Van Duzer, P.E.
CEO
Alex started his career 20 years ago and has worked in all areas of municipal, residential, and site development. Alex's experience covers everything from entitlements and planning to engineering, permitting, and construction. His background includes positions as a planner, designer, project manager, and construction administrator for projects in retail, residential, industrial, public works, commercial, and historical restoration. In his role as CEO at Viewport Engineering LLC, Alex oversees operations, design, business development, and client relations for public and private sector clients. Alex drives a culture built on communication, integrity, and collaboration with the vision of helping our clients and colleagues achieve success.
Marcos Urdiales
Civil Engineer
Marcos began his career in San Antonio five years ago, specializing in the technical foundations of residential land development. Since relocating to Houston two years ago, he has navigated the region's unique regulatory landscape to move complex projects through the development lifecycle. His expertise spans everything from initial planning and engineering to permitting and construction administration.
Having served as both an engineer and assistant project manager for large-scale residential developments, Marcos understands how to transition a project from raw concept to completed site. At Viewport Engineering LLC, he manages design operations and client relations with a focus on technical precision and proactive communication. Marcos is dedicated to delivering high-quality results, ensuring every project is built on a foundation of trust and professional excellence.
Eric Aviles
Civil Designer
Eric Aviles is a Civil Designer with over five years of experience in land development, drainage systems, utilities, and roadway design. As a Designer at Viewport Engineering LLC, he supports a diverse project portfolio – residential development, data centers, and construction administration – delivering precise, code-compliant civil plan sets.
Eric's career began in Houston where he contributed to large-scale land development projects alongside multidisciplinary teams across engineering, landscape architecture, and surveying. He brings technical depth and collaborative mindset to every project.
Juan Montelongo
Civil Designer
Juan Montelongo is a Civil Designer at Viewport Engineering LLC with 10 years of multidisciplinary design experience, including four years focused on civil design. He specializes in site and land development, with experience in site layout and grading. As an experienced designer, Juan produces detailed civil plan sets and supports projects from initial design through construction.
Throughout his career in Houston, Juan has also contributed to private development projects involving civil engineering, architecture, and MEP design. His expertise has been built through hands-on project experience, giving him a practical understanding of constructability, design coordination, and project execution. He brings adaptability, attention to detail, and a solutions-oriented mindset to every project.
